Let the cost price and sell price be A and S respectively.
ATQ, (A - 2S/3) /A = 20/100
or, (A - 2S/3) / A = 1/5
or, (A - 2S/3) = A/5
or, 2S/3 = A - A/5
or, 2S/3 = 4A/5
or, S = 4A/5 × 3/2
or, S = 6A/5
Now, profit = (S - A) / A × 100%
= (6A/5 - A) / A × 100%
= (A/5) / A × 100%
= 20%
